Sergey Fedorov, also known as known Anatolkin, is a painter whose journey through science, business, and global experiences has shaped his distinctive artistic vision. Born and raised in Peterhof, a town famed for its imperial palaces near Saint Petersburg, Russia. During his time there he was immersed in a world of history, culture, and art from an early age. 

As a child, he spent countless hours wandering the halls of the Hermitage and the Russian Museum, captivated by the works of great masters and dreaming of becoming an artist. In the 1990’s Russia's turbulent environment led him to study chemistry at Saint Petersburg State University. While his academic and professional journey took him through scientific research, international exchange programs, and a highly successful career in marketing and business, his passion for art never faded. Museums became his second home, and books on art theory were his constant companions. 

In 2012-2013, while living in Saint Petersburg, he took a bold step toward retracing his artistic aspirations by enrolling in painting courses under professional instructors from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. This experience reignited his passion, setting the stage for a new creative chapter. In 2014, he left Russia and moved to Bulgaria, where the serene landscapes and slower pace of life allowed him to fully embrace painting. Later, in Spain, he deepened his artistic exploration, inspired by the rich artistic heritage of the country. It was during this period that he adopted the pseudonym Anatolkin—a tribute to his late father, whose memory he honors through his work.

Now based in the United States, Fedorov has returned to painting with renewed energy and focus. His work blends elements of impressionism with personal experimentation, drawing inspiration from nature, human emotions, and the interplay of light and color. While he maintains an analytical approach influenced by his scientific background, his paintings are filled with spontaneity, movement, and emotion. For him, each painting is a story waiting to be told or in other words, a conversation between artist and viewer. With a life that has spanned multiple careers, industries, and countries, Anatolkin sees his art as a way to bridge these experiences, bringing together the structured logic of science and business with the intuitive freedom of artistic expression.
